2014 The Good Shepherd Catholic Church
Novaliches Cathedral, canonically recognized as the Cathedral-Parish and Diocesan Shrine of the Good Shepherd, is a Roman Catholic church located along Regalado Avenue in Fairview Park, Barangay Fairview, Quezon City in the Philippines. It is the mother church of the Diocese of Novaliches. It was established on August 5, 1975 by Jaime Sin, Cardinal Archbishop of Manila. Msgr. Fidelis Ruben Limcaco is the church's first parish priest, whose term lasted for 27 years. From 1975 to 2003, the Good Shepherd Archdiocesan Shrine was a part of the Archdiocese of Manila. It was elevated into the status of cathedral when it was designated to be the seat of the newly created Diocese of Novaliches in January 2003. Rev. Msgr. Jesus-Romulo Rañada was appointed first rector. Appointed second rector of the cathedral is the late Rev. Fr. Gerardo Giovanni Tapiador, SSL. Following the sabbatical of Fr. Tapiador, Rev. Fr. Elpidio "Jun" R. De Peralta, Jr. was named Acting Rector and Parish Administrator, and Rev. Fr. Carlos "Charlie" L. Aldema, was named Vice Rector. With the reshuffle of the clergy of the Diocese of Novaliches in June of 2013, Rev. Fr. Mario S. Sanchez was appointed Rector and Parish Priest of the cathedral-shrine and parish. Taken 4-12-2014.
